Plant Manager


This is a Contract position in Markham, ON posted October 22, 2021.

The recruitment team at Myticas Consulting is looking for an experienced Plant Manager who would be interested in a full-time permanent opportunity offered within the Markham, ON region.

Overall responsibilities would include:

  1. Manage cost effective and efficient manufacturing operation
  2. Work with Quality Supervisor to ensure product quality and investigate root cause of manufacturing quality issues as they occur. Detailed documentation is required.
  3. Identify process improvement projects through analysis of recurring issues.
  4. Recognize and manage any visual and/or dimensional defects that impact the function or customer acceptance of the project.
  5. Train employees to read and understand die making prints and related materials.
  6. Ensure the manufacturing workforce are trained in all processes employed by the Company.
  7. Participate in future planning of manufacturing system improvements to ensure our capability to meet the changing needs of the marketplace.
  8. Work with other Managers to identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness.
  9. dentify and recommend resources needed to meet our operational goals, both through personnel requirements as well as capital equipment needs.
  10. Ensure ISO system is up to date, supported and followed.
  11. Participate in the development of annual budget and ensure budget parameters are met and analyzed.
  12. Manage workforce health and safety policies and ensure adherence to these policies.
  13. Be the driving force behind continuous improvement projects and lean initiatives.
  14. Ensure machinery and equipment are well maintained and schedules are in place for regular maintenance.
  15. Ensure the quality of our dies are consistent and up to standards at all times.
  16. Maintain a consistently high level of On-Time delivery of dies; critical to the success of the operation.
  17. Manage all issues relating to shop personnel, including performance and wage reviews as well as any interpersonal issues that may arise from time to time.
