Director, Inside Sales

This is a Contract position in Markham, ON posted May 11, 2022.

Job Description

Primary Function:

Build, drive, and execute the strategy for Grainger Canada’s Inside Sales Team to aggressively grow revenue on Inside Sales Accounts. Support Commercial Sales Team Nationally in maintaining revenue in outside accounts through interim coverage support.  Create new revenue opportunities through generating new inside customer accounts and growing revenue. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overall leadership of three separate teams including Inside Account Managers, Inside Development Representatives, and Interim Coverage Sellers
  • Leads two Managers and one Supervisor who each have 5-15 Direct reports 
  • Responsible for sales performance of Inside Sales team (~ 30 total Team members)
  • Revenue Responsibility is ~ 40 Million
  • Responsible for performance management and development of the Inside sales team
  • Manages the progress of their sales team to expand market penetration and generate revenue through leadership, coaching, and professional development
  • Creates an engaged environment that ensures the retention, and development of inside sales team members.
  • Design, develop and maintain the most effective and efficient coverage and resource plans for the team.
  • Works with leaders to create pipeline of bench talent to proactively address future attrition
  • Develop contingency plans to address market changes.

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 10-15 years progressive responsibility leading successful teams, field management and business experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Outstanding strategic/innovative thinking capabilities with superior interpersonal skills, while also implementing a hands-on approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performance work teams.
  • Solid experience in leading and promoting large-scale change.
  • Proficient with telecommunications technology and KPI’s to ensure maximum productivity and quality customer experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication & facilitation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts.
  • Bilingual (French / English) speaking an asset
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization, decisively address issues and maintain business focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results with the passion, energy, creativity, and skills to profitability grow sales and increase customer retention.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key leadership in the organization.
  • Outstanding financial acumen/ability to manage budgets and understand financial models.
  • Lead with enterprise thinking and provide leadership cross-functionally including others that do not directly report to position.
