Indigenous Business Development Advisor (2 positions)

Working together to provide essential services to communities across Western Canada, we are hiring 2 Indigenous Business Development Advisors on a permanent basis working remotely in Manitoba and British Columbia.Who we are:As a co-operative, we do business differently.

To learn more about who we are, visit you’ll do: Under the leadership of the Indigenous Business Development Manager, you will lead the implementation of the Indigenous Business Development strategy within their assigned geography by developing positive working relationships between Indigenous communities, Indigenous led organizations, and the CRS.

You will develop and nurture relationships to identify mutually beneficial business to business and other partnership opportunities in support of CRS strategy and operations.Business to Business: You will contribute to developing and creating business to business/partnership relationships between the CRS and Indigenous communities and Indigenous led organizations.Relationship Building: You will use your experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of local context and sensitivities to build meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships.

You will provide guidance and advice on best practices for relationship building to local Co-ops and zone team members as well as act as an external liaison for the CRS.Training and Awareness You will work with the Indigenous Business Development Manager, Diversity & Inclusion, Home Office, and Zone HR to identify opportunities within the CRS to enhance cultural awareness for the purposes of relationship building including locally sourced training.You will be required to travel 50% of the time.Why it matters:We help local Co-ops grow and thrive by offering a range of professional services, including marketing, market research, information technology, human resources, accounting, risk management and business development.Who you are:You are looking for a career in Strategy and:You have a degree in Communications, Business, Indigenous Studies, or related field.You have a minimum of 6-9 years of experience in business experience/ economic development, including demonstrated experience in business development, and relationship management including successful experience working with or for Indigenous communities, organizations, and leaders is preferred.
