Benefits Administrator

Extendicare Canada Inc.

This is a Contract position in Markham, ON posted November 22, 2022.

LOA Specialist:

Reporting to the LOA Manager, this position provides quality day-to-day support and end-to-end processing of all Extendicare’s Leave of Absence plans according to Extendicare’s LOA policies and procedures. Provides expert knowledge and recommendations in the resolution of complex cases and ensures the accurate and timely processing of the case load across Canada. With a strong focus on support of our employees throughout the event with strong case management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and administer the LOA and WSIB administration process, working closely with the Benefits Management.
  • Support review/approval of and follow up on LOA forms and documentation as required in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Provide QA/audit of benefits enrollments related to LOA to ensure adherence to process flows and data integrity
  • Ensures LOA vendors manage LOA programs compliant with statutory compliance
  • Act as an escalation point from Tier 1 inquiries on matters related to administrative but ore complex LOA and WSIB leaves
  • Provide end-to-end case management and consultative support to employees and managers with LOA management, Workers’ Compensation and employee experience inquiries
  • Data entry, verification and data maintains in case tracking and HRIS systems in a timely manner
  • Provide insights to the overall HR Metric Scorecard on organizational health
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations including Extendicare’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in system set-up for LOA administration processing
  • Testing – support identification of system issues and testing for enhancements
  • Conducts regular audits of LOA related data processed
  • Verify and analyze any data reported to external providers
  • Identify process improvements and assist in implementing any process changes
  • Assist in special projects as required
  • May be assigned to perform other LOA related tasks as outlined

Skills and Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience with end to end employee leave knowledge
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Understanding of delivery metrics
  • Comfortable processing and maintaining a high volume of material ensuring high level of accuracy through attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential;
  • Outstanding customer service skills and dedication to providing exceptional customer care with a focus on quality customer service;
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, have a positive attitude, proactive approach, strong work ethic, work in a team setting;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multitasking, juggling and prioritizing multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times; and
  • Experience with Workday and Service Now an asset.
