If you want to work with an inclusive and collaborative team that’s striving to change the world for the better, we invite you to join us.The EV Thermal Controls Co-op student will be given the opportunity to engage in the development of thermal systems for EV vehicles in the area of Electrification Thermal controls and diagnostic design. These areas include Matlab/Simulink/C Code based algorithm development, testing, virtual and vehicle calibration! The student will work with a diverse team of engineers to support the development of new systems as well as be an agile developer on a scrum team.Key Responsibilities:Support and development of Thermal EV control and diagnostic algorithmsConduct testing of prototype and production software (simulation, bench, and in-vehicle)Support supplier component design and development activitiesSupport production calibration activities through in-vehicle testing and data analysisInvestigate & support continuous improvement activities associated with production programsParticipate in the day-to-day engineering activities in order to gain an understanding of the vehicle development processParticipate in an Agile SAFe scrum teamAdditional Job DescriptionRequired Qualifications:Pursuit of a Bachelor's (3rd and 4th year students but will consider qualified 2nd year students with EcoCAR, or SAE project experience) or Master's degree in one of the following areas: Software Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MechatronicsAble to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 12-month term (3 consecutive semesters) starting January 2024Basic electrical and control systems knowledgeExperience with Simulink (working level knowledge)Curiosity about vehicle controls and EV technologyWhat will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Ability to travel to the US (Recommended)Have a valid Full Class G Ontario Driver’s Licence, or equivalent Canadian out-of-province licenceAbout GMOur vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.Why Join Us We aspire to be the most inclusive company in the world.
