Sr Technical QA Manager, Advanced Technology Group

 

THE ROLE:

AMD Advanced Technology Group is an entrepreneurial research and development team to build AMD’s future advanced platforms & products. Our teams work closely with outside customers and internal teams to develop hardware, software, and systems solutions into next generation computing platforms. As part of AMD Advanced Technology Group, you will have the opportunity to build a winning team that will collaborate with internal teams & customers, explore new platform technologies, and lead the development of best-in-class hardware, software, and systems technologies that our customers will use for real-world problems.

 

THE PERSON:

AMD is looking for a  Sr Technical QA Manager, overseeing software Quality, Processes, and Tooling for our Advanced Technology Group to develop our long-term platform vision, which will have significant impact for AMD, and the future of our products.

In this role, you will build and lead all aspects of our group’s software Quality Assurance, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, and holding our software to a high quality bar. You will lead our group’s technical program managers, overseeing our commitments, communication, and software processes. Your team will also be responsible for key tooling deliverables to various audiences from developers, tuning engineers, QA, and external customers. Your team will be responsible for ensuring that our test automation and tools are robust while being user-friendly, and ultimately unlocking the value of AMD’s solutions. Our group works on forward-looking projects and novel system concepts that significantly impact AMD’s future product portfolio. Your role will be instrumental in shaping AMD’s forward-looking hardware and software technologies.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and lead AMD’s Quality Assurance team for the Advanced Technology Group, overseeing all of ATG’s QA activities
  • Oversee tools development across our projects, including QA Test and Automation, Camera tuning, Machine Learning development and deployment, KPI attainment for power and performance, and mobile graphics
  • Grow and prepare the group to take on new challenging projects, breaking new ground for AMD and industry
  • Position AMD as a world-class solution in next-generation technologies

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Deep experience leading & developing distributed teams of software quality engineers and tools developers, while being closely involved in recruitment and training of new and existing employees
  • Experience delivering commercial quality software solutions in consumer electronics
  • Experience driving positive change within software development groups, improving test and quality practices
  • Experience in building and executing on automation test frameworks to improve validation throughput of AMD solutions
  • Experience delivering software tool products to customers, evaluating and satisfying customer needs, leading software developers to iterate on customer-focused tool solutions
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the domains of computer vision, mobile graphics, or other relevant field

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor of Computer Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree
