The Manager, Cloud Operations will be responsible for managing a small team of cloud operations engineers to support production operations.

The role will be responsible for supporting, optimizing and improving our production environments, which will include solving complex issues around concurrency, security, performance, and scalability. Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of cloud operations engineers to support production operations
• Support, optimize and improve our production environments
• Solve complex issues around concurrency, security, performance, and scalability
• Support promotion of product features all the way through to operating successfully in production at peak times
• Work with application teams to automate application setup, deployment, and configuration
• Provide technical solutions to automate processes to improve business operations
• Keep to the processes, standards, and designs that the team has agreed and potentially enhance it.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement in the team, and work with stakeholders to improve operations workflows
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing configuration management (Terraform & Ansible) infrastructure as code
• Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning
• Participate in an after-hours on-call schedule

Succeeding is this role will require the following core qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a DevOps role
• Hand-on experience with DevOps tool stacks and CI/CD implementation
• Professional experience with IaaS such as AWS (primary), Azure or GCP
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, PowerShell and shell script
• Professional experience with GIT as source control and branching strategy including pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD systems
• Professional experience with the following AWS service areas 
  • Compute, Storage, Serverless, Database 
  • AWS EventBridge, Amazon Cognito, Amazon API Gateway
  • Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS) or Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS)
• Professional Experience with Application and Infrastructure Monitoring/Alerting
• Strong knowledge in Monitoring & Log Management Tools (CloudWatch, Datadog or other monitoring tools)
• Windows or Linux administration experience
• On call experience including monitoring and alerting

Preferred skills and experience, but not essential:

• API Lifecycle Management experience
• Containerization experience
• Experience working with an agile team
• Software Development Life Cycle
• Knowledge of health care space and security/compliance needs
• Experience with GitHub Actions or CircleCI
• Experience with the following AWS Services 
  • AWS Key Management Service (KMS)
  • AWS Fargate
  • AWS CloudTrail
  • Amazon VPC
  • Amazon Elastic Container Registry (Amazon ECR)
