Business Analyst – Information Technology

This is a Contract position in Markham, ON posted January 8, 2022.

Candidates are invited to apply for the above position to work at our Corporate office located in Markham, Ontario, with the flexibility to work remotely during the COVID pandemic.

 

Reporting to the Director, PMO, the Business Analyst will be an instrumental part of the team working cross-functionally with SMEs, project managers and business unit leads to understand and document business requirements, driving solution design and working with technical implementation teams to see the project through to completion. The Business Analyst will work across a multitude of IT projects, often with broad cross-organizational impact.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with technical and business leads across various projects
  • Conduct requirement reviews and obtain sign off from all key stakeholders, ensuring that overall project timelines are maintained
  • Obtain and analyze data sets as required for key project decisions and data loads
  • Work with technical teams, both internal and vendor teams, to document solution design decisions and to document technical and implementation steps
  • Responsible for creation of test plans, encompassing unit, functional and user acceptance tests
  • Working with project managers across the PMO, to ensure key project deliverables are delivered on time
  • Identify key project risks and mitigation strategies and help drive a collaborative problem-solving approach to achieve issue resolution
  • Build and maintain professional partnerships with internal business partners and support teams, that are characterized by shared responsibility and success, open communication, and transparency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in relevant field; preference will be given to candidates possessing degrees in Business or Healthcare Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Above average organizational skills with the ability to succinctly summarize key issues
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with proven competence in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint will be an asset;
  • Critical thinker with a problem-solving focused approach;
  • Proven analytical, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills with the ability to operate at a strategic level to develop and achieve shared goals and organizational objectives
  • Collaborative style with the ability to work well and communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Team player who fosters a collaborative work environment, working with others to achieve shared team goals and organizational objectives;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and to pivot quickly given changing industry trends and priorities
