Associate Network Analyst

The incumbent will manage and support network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Network team members with device management and monitoring:
    • Learn to use Solarwinds Orion for monitoring
    • Assist with managing switches (Aruba/HP/Cisco), routers (Cisco), Firewalls (Palo-Alto), Wireless (Meraki)
    • Understand Active Directory services to support managing Network Policy Servers (NPS), i.e.: RADIUS along with 802.1x
    • Learn about file transfer tools to support secure file transfers and encryption (GlobalScape SFS, PGP)
  • Gain an understanding of encryption and PKI to be able to manage:
    • SSL certificates
    • PGP encryption
  • Manages delivery of assigned tasks using project management discipline
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Set high standards for own work and ensure high quality outcomes are achieved
  • Prepares work and/or project estimates and schedules of project activities as required
  • Sets realistic and achievable expectations for deliverables
  • Ensures effective work habits including punctuality, responsiveness, and accessibility to others
  • Works effectively as a member of the overall IT Group
  • Promotes teamwork and collegiality in the work environment
  • Observes the corporate values of LifeWorks
  • Promotes LifeWorks as the service provider of choice in the industry
  • Attends required internal training sessions for security, privacy and code of conduct awareness
  • If required assists incident response and remediation, special projects, and other tasks, as required
     

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of ISO layers
  • Good understanding of how DNS functions
  • Some knowledge of scripting languages
  • Post-secondary education with Infrastructure Technology with Networking or equivalent work experience or reputable certification
  • Must agree to undergo the required security clearances required by clients or government agencies for regulatory purposes including the Canadian federal government.
  • Be familiar with the security of AWS and Azure platforms
  • Some working knowledge of hardware; systems software and utilities; network communications; project management, Microsoft, AD, Linux
  • Very good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be a leader and an agent for change
  • Demonstrates the ability to negotiate, manage conflict and manage risk
  • Always reliable, consistent, flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to work autonomously, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be proactive, addressing potential problems before they occur
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and French (oral and written) would be an asset
  • Nice to have Certification would be anything related to networking:
    • Palo-Alto
    • Cisco CCNA or CCNP
  • Nice to have knowledge of F5 devices to assist in managing load balance devices with the support of a Senior Analyst.
  • Nice to have an understanding of key Privacy legislation such as (GDPR, HIPAA, Canadian Privacy Laws)
