Staff and Physician Wellness Leader – Full Time Temporary (Until Approx. March 2024) – Markham Site

What we are looking for:

 We seek to find a progressive Registered Social Worker/Registered Nurse who will be a progressive and engaging member of the Mental Health team, responsible for the provision of psychosocial supports and wellness services to OVH employees and professional staff including physicians and midwifes. This will include connecting with all clinical and non-clinical areas across all three sites of Oak Valley Health to meet the needs of those struggling with a variety of concerns including anxiety, PTSD, burnout, trauma and stress.   The successful incumbent will be proficient at individual and group psychotherapy/counselling and an expert in facilitation of wellness activities including team huddles, rounding across the organization to build engagement and support as well as follow up post traumatic events, and cofacilitation of debriefs as indicated. The successful candidate will ideally have additional certifications in mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy and be experienced at developing and facilitation group therapy sessions.  The candidate will be expected to engage in needs assessment surveys, program planning and development, data gathering and evaluation.  The role involves working with hospital inter professional teams as well as with community partners and agencies. 

               

 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Masters of Social Work degree (MSW)/Registered Nurse degree (RN)
  • Current registration with Ontario College Social Work and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)/ College of Nurses of Ontario
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of Adult Mental Health assessment and treatment experience
  • Clinical experience in working with adults who suffer with a mental health diagnosis
  • Experience with treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural therapy and  facilitating Mindfulness practice
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in trauma, PTSD, working with first responders, practicing from a trauma informed perspective
  • Experience in counselling health care providers, including physicians and midwives
  • Experience engaging teams in team building practices
  • Experience in developing and leading Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programs
  • Excellent relational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience with program planning, development, and evaluation of group and/or individual therapy
  • Proven effective collaborative skills as a member of a inter professional team in a hospital setting
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power-point
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

 

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

The successful candidate will be required to work flexible shifts to meet the needs of staff and physicians.  This includes afternoon, evening or weekend availability. Schedules may change based on needs of the role. 

 

 

Compensation:

Band I: $42.80 – $54.52 per hour
