Systems Design Engineer – 162050

THE ROLE:

In this role, you will be esponsible for the development of methodologies, execution of system integration plans, and debug of failures. Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon integration teams to improve post-silicon test content and provide feedback for future debug and test features. Uses and applies emulation and platform level tools and techniques to ensure zero quality escapes.

THE PERSON:

We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and able to resolve complex problems. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
• Define and measure test plan quality, both pre-silicon working with design/platform teams and measuring quality post-silicon to improve coverage.
• Perform as system integration expert starting pre-silicon through post-silicon milestones.
• Responsible for test development, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting test results.
• Collaboration with cross-functional HW and SW team to solve complex issues and improve efficiency.
• Work with IP designers to build knowledge of design internals within the system integration team.
• Willingness to demonstrate success in communicating plans, status, issues, concerns.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Post-silicon system integration.
• Debug skills and solving complex problems.
• Translate GPU. CPU, chipset, graphics card, motherboard design specs to a robust system integration test plan.
• Ability to program in C, C++, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.).
• AMD/Intel CPU, GPU, chipset, and graphics architecture
• Writing clear technical documentation.
• Design, verification or system integration disciplines, system/platform level debug and root cause isolation, methodology and tools.
• Windows, Linux, Chrome OS
• Mentoring and training for junior system integration engineers.
• Effective communication skills working across large multi-functional HW, SW, architecture teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, or an equivalent.
