Program Manager 1 – 107841

The Role:

System Management Unit (SMU) IP is the backbone of AMD SOCs. We design and deliver cutting-edge technologies of System reset and boot, security processor and cryptography, network-on-chip, data compression, advanced power management, clocking, etc.

As a Program Manager in SMU IP Team, you will be working with a diverse team of creative engineers and managers within and without the team to coordinate and drive the execution of projects gear to various SOCs programs. This role provides an excellent growth opportunity for robust individuals looking to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, Manage, and Track Project:

· Work with SMU IP leadership team to build bottom-up schedule and task plans

· Supervise and review project progression with standard metrics, status reports. action items and meetings

· Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project

· Run risks and critical dependencies

Communication and Alignment:

· The central point of contact between SMU, SoC Leads and Partners

· Ensure alignment between SMU, SoC leads and partners & tracking (schedule, features, quality, deliverables, etc.) to closure

· Represent SMU in Convergence, Status and similar meetings

· Weekly communication of project progress to SMU leadership team

· Point of escalation for the program


· Assist in developing and implementing project management best course, tools, templates, and metrics to drive continuous improvement

· Team communication, culture, initiative, training, etc.

Preferred Experience:

· Technical background in the semiconductor industry with 5 years of hands-on engineering experience and/or program management experience.

· Experience with Security IP or standards

· Experience with 3rd party IP acquisition and partner management

· Highly organized, able to prioritize, and balance workstreams to deadlines across internal functional teams

· Flexible schedule to work with global (Asia and North America) teams

· Proven track record to multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities

· Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems

· Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Teams, SharePoint and MS Office applications

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Outstanding written & oral communication skills

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics & Communication) or equivalent experience

PMP certification is preferred, but not required
