Platform Emulation Engineer – 162323

The Role:

The AMD Graphics Systems & Customer Engineering team needs a dynamic, energetic engineer to join our growing Emulation team.  The GSCE team is a key element of AMD’s strategy to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market.  As an Emulation engineer, you will be working with pre- and post-silicon hardware, software, and diagnostic teams to help ensure first silicon success and rapid silicon validation of our discrete GPU products.

Key Responsibilities:

Emulation strategy and flow development

• Execute Emulation functional/power/perf test strategy working with GPU SOC, IP, DV, Firmware and validation teams to bridge between Pre-Si and Post-Si validation
• Work with extended teams to debug the emulation environment, drive cross team testing (DV/Firmware/Diagnostic/Validation/SOC), and establish performance testing capabilities
• Provide support to drive debug data collection and analysis, including waveform capture and analysis

Task execution

• Feature test plan development and execution
• Develop/modify/enhance functional and stress tests to enable and stress HW/SW features
• Firmware stack bring-up for embedded microprocessors
• DRAM R/W tests
• OS boot sequence
• Workload Execution

• Scripts for data analysis
• Standardize data collection for offline debug
• Waveform debug

Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated experience with Emulation/Simulation
• SOC validation/verification experience using advanced pre-silicon environments
• Firmware programming experience (C/C++)
• Strong communication and teamworking skills
• Experience with pre-silicon power and performance analysis
• 5-10+ years of experience
• Post-silicon ASIC validation experience a plus
• Experience in automation and test/integration methodologies a plus
