Software Quality Manager

The AMD Display Solutions Team is looking for an experienced Software Quality Manager, to be based in our AMD Markham office. The team is responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of Display Abstraction Layer (DAL) – one of the biggest components of AMD kernel mode graphics driver, developing newest Display Technologies, bring up of new GPUs and APUs, as well as new SW features related to displays of all types, for both Windows and Linux ecosystems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very dynamic and enthusiastic team working on the very edge of display technologies enabled by AMD hardware.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and manage a quality engineering team including hiring, coaching, setting performance metrics and growing team talents
• Work closely with the team to develop software quality plan for project deliverables focused on automated testing and power target attainment and drive the team to meet each milestone
• Report on quality metrics to the team and drive nightly and weekly reports on driver health and stability, specifically around automated tests, and power measurement baselines
• Control the Quality of our mainline driver releases and work with development team managers to ensure SW releases and deliverables achieve our quality bar
• Collaborate with other managers and technical members to improve team productivity and make strategic decisions on automation investment to achieve team’s quality goals

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of software quality engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience with automated testing and driving team to execute new automated test cases and build new infrastructure requirements
• B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, project management and 5+ years of experience as software quality team manager.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Strong track record of project deliveries and leading organizational change.
