Graphics Hardware Electrical Design Engineer – 149964

The Graphics Platform Design team is looking for our next new team member. Our Graphics Platform Design team designs world class Graphics Cards and reference designs based on AMD’s Graphics Processing Units (GPU’s). Our team plays a major part in architecting and shaping every graphics board offered by AMD!

THE ROLE:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to design cutting-edge boards, with new features for our discrete graphics boards that retail around the world. We work in a fast-paced environment, always facing stringent demands in terms of Display/Memory/Bus speeds, Power Delivery and new features that various markets demand. These designs are essential to maximize the performance from our GPU’s in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate would be responsible for the design, analysis and verification of requirements from various markets to deliver Graphics reference designs for our customers. Self-motivated, initiative, team oriented, forward thinker!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design AMD Graphic reference boards and production boards; including schematic design, components selection, cost control, and guide layout etc.
• Product Design Ownership (Bringup -> Debug -> Cost Optimization and release of Design collaterals)
• Provide and drive the platform solution by leading the related design teams;
• Bill of Material ownership (Creation/Maintenance and integration with procurement teams)
• Provide the technical guidance to customer support team;
• Work closely with silicon bring up team to bring up AMD dGPU;
• Work closely with Marketing to define the board spec;
• Work closely with Silicon team for the product definition;
• Drive innovation to optimize the designs;
• Document the technical design;

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Prior hands on experience on electrical hardware design in PC, Consumer and Telecom;
• Solid on analog/digital mixed signal, power design, EMI, signal integrity;
• Strong mix of high-speed board design experience, like PCIE, Display port, HDMI, high speed memory;
• Strong experience in Cadence tools, like concept, Capture, Allegro;
• Strong experience with silicon and board bring up and debug;
• Strong leadership and presentation skill;
• Excellent organizational skills to manage working across multiple product segments and improvements over generations of products 
• Prefer in PC system and silicon level knowledge;

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Minimum B.Sc. or M.Sc. In EE or CS or equivalent preferred
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
