Customer Application Engineer – 148021

THE ROLE:

The CG (Cloud Gaming) and VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) Customer Application Engineering organization works with large Cloud Service Providers to enable successful deployment of AMD enterprise server GPU products in the data center.

You will be a key member of this customer facing team responsible for leading enabling and supporting strategic partners as they incorporate AMD technologies in their cloud solutions.  You will be leading the triaging and debugging of hardware and software issues in a variety of complex Cloud infrastructure and datacenter server environments.  This role provides a unique opportunity to learn leading edge GPU, Servers, Cloud technologies and solutions and growing your career with a key BU (Business Unit) at AMD

THE PERSON:

• Willing to learn in areas outside of your expertise
• Owner mentality to drive the issue closure
• Comfortable in customer facing situations.  You will work directly with the customer to understand, reproduce, and debug any issues they encounter with our product.
• The ideal candidate will bring broad knowledge/experience of servers, PCIe cards, accelerators, drivers, operating systems, benchmarking, performance analysis, programming and triaging/debugging of software issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Triaging and debugging software issues in a complex high-end server environment
• Architect, install and test solutions in-house as required, to ensure successful deployments and evaluations
• Develop proof of concept solutions to demonstrate product capability at the Server and SW stack levels.
• Partner with other AMD subject matter experts from the Global AMD teams to solve specific customer challenges

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of industry experience (ideally with System, Server, PCIe HW, Drivers and/or Semiconductor vendors)
• Knowledge/experience in Linux/Windows, virtualization software (VMware, Ubuntu, et al), Programming (e.g., Python, C, C++), SW tools, Testing, Benchmarks, Workloads
• Prior experience with testing tools and environments, defect tracking and revision control
• Knowledge of general Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features
• Knowledge/experience of GPUs, Virtualization, ML, and/or Cloud Gaming, is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal, to deliver clear and concise information with technical and non-technical teams
• Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS (MS preferred) in Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science
